JRockit is basically a contemporary of the Sun HotSpot dynamic compiler.

If you want native executables, check out:

	* NaturalBridge's BulletTrain, http://www.naturalbridge.com/
	Still MS Windows-only but they keep promising a Linux version.
	Alas, their website seems to be moving backwards and getting
	smaller and smaller. Not a good sign.

	* Instantiations' JOVE, http://www.instantiations.com/jove/
	$800 plus $250/year for upgrades and support.
	Windows-only.

	* For server-only stuff (i.e., no GUI support, etc.),
	TowerJ, http://www.towerj.com/
	It's not cheap but supports a number of platforms including
	Windows, Linux, Solaris, HPUX, and initial support for
	Itanium-based systems running Linux or Windows.

Take care,
	John
