Here's my take/preference.

LGPL, while to an engineer seems reasonable to include in commercial
software, tends to give lawyers the willies.  They don't understand the
difference between linking a library and creating a derivate work.

BSD and ilk are typically a good choice.  The Apache Software Foundation
version has the name recognition of ASF, of course.

I personally release things under ASF or BSD these days.
