The DLL built with 2.7.2 is not really one of the most stable things (it
might vary a bit on whose DLL build instructions you are using) Search the
archive is the only advice I can give with respect to it.
You might try a static library.
Maybe it's something in parser/lexer intialization, but if the example
programs have the same problem that's probably not the case.

No idea here. Don't use msvc6.
