[antlr-interest] Replacing a tree node with a new custom class node

Hi,

How can I replace a a tree node with a new custom class node? I tried 
  astBeingReplaced.initialize(customClassAst)
but that does not change the CLASS of the node being replaced?

Any ideas? Thanks
