Oliver--
Yes, that's the right way to get 2.8. The restrictions are ones that
Caltech/JPL agreed to license software through open channel. Note that the
license only applies to some of the files (and none of the library
classes)--I'd prefer a more open distribution policy, but the license
conditions are to allow Open Channel to retain commercialization rights in
exchange for collecting the information about distribution that NASA
requires. Eventually, I plan to bootstrap a version which uses ANTLR trees
to implement the grammar generation algorithm and is free of the Open
Channel distribution restrictions.
Ter was going to post a pointer on the main ANTLR site. I've been too busy
to do much about publicizing the release except in this forum.
