Sadly, an Ad Hominem response doesn't advance the debate.

I disagree with Scott profoundly but, I'd still like to understand his
position. 

E.g. What problems did he have to resort to the book to resolve?. Are they
trivial user-space problems or, integration issues that require indepth
knowledage of v3 implementation?
