the problem may be simply to assume that any token you insert into  
the template also includes any hidden tokens before it.


   Isn't that something that JavaCC has supported from the start? ;o)  
But it is far less flexible than the generic TokenStream approach.  
And wait for the ANTLR3 Channels...
