[antlr-interest] protected weakness?

consider this: (taken from the faq}

ID_OR_NUM : DIGITS (ID {$setType(ID);} | {$setType(NUMBER);}) ;

where ID and NUMBER are protected... 

will the parser get ID or NUMBER?
