[antlr-interest] Antlr 2.7.5 bug or works as designed?

I am using Antlr 2.7.5 which is launched via a custom build action in
VisualStudio.NET 2003. Since moving the build into VS.NET I've noticed that
antlr is launched regardless of whether the grammar file has changed or not.
After going through the normal routine of making sure that all the manually
added dependencies and list of generated files were correct I noticed that
the modified date (on generated files) never changed.

After updating the custom build action to delete the generated files before
antlr is launched everything works as it should. I get the same results on XP
Pro and XP Home Both systems are running different versions of the Sun JRE
(1.3 and 1.5 version of the compiler).


Is this a problem with ANTLR, the JRE, or this the intended behavior?
