[antlr-interest] ANTLR treatment of non-LL-ness

Pardon my newbie question, but some googling failed to turn up what I
was looking for:

The thread on parser generation taking hours, apparently because of
being handed a grammar that wasn't LL(1) had me scratching my head.
Does ANTLR not confirm that the input grammar is acceptable and
immediately point out the cause if the grammar is not acceptable?
