[stringtemplate-interest] Misleading error...

I inadvertently appended a semicolon to a single line template

Template<blah>::="<blah> de blah";

but received no direct error, other than all the templates below this
were missing on execution. I was left scratching my head for fair while
since only the odd template below the line was in use when it failed,
making the problem line less obvious.
