I just downloaded 3.0b5, at 616.06 B/s according to wget. Similarly
slow speeds using Firefox.
Here's the path from me to antlr.org:
$ tracepath www.antlr.org
1: 192.168.9.162 (192.168.9.162) 0.434ms pmtu 1500
1: 192.168.9.1 (192.168.9.1) 2.020ms
2: 10.171.128.1 (10.171.128.1) 19.624ms
3: gsr01-ca.blueyonder.co.uk (62.30.144.161) 19.505ms
4: pc-62-30-250-45-ha.blueyonder.co.uk (62.30.250.45) 25.427ms
5: pc-62-30-250-58-ha.blueyonder.co.uk (62.30.250.58) 17.746ms
6: ex1-g1-0-0.linxuk.sbcglobal.net (195.66.224.210) 18.019ms
7: ded-p1-0.pltn13.sbcglobal.net (151.164.191.245) asymm 19 176.700ms
8: VIP-University-of-San-Francisco-IAF1073874.cust-rtr.pacbell.net (69.108.221.142) asymm 20 178.468ms
9: www.antlr.org (138.202.175.217) asymm 21 180.776ms
Latency is pretty low, with no spikes as far as I can see:
--- 138.202.175.217 ping statistics ---
27 packets transmitted, 27 received, 0% packet loss, time 26002ms
rtt min/avg/max/mdev = 172.488/179.802/193.441/6.050 ms
For comparisons sake, I can download the ~700Kb JavaIO-notes.pdf from
Terr's homepage on cs.usfca.edu at +200Kb/s. The tracepath from here to
www.cs.usfca.edu looks exactly the same until after the host
VIP-University-of-San-Francisco-IAF1073874.cust-rtr.pacbell.net
